I graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy with a degree in learning sciences, a concentration in the design of learning environments and a certificate in asset-based community development. I am currently a fifth year PhD student studying Creative Technology and Design in the ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I am planning on defending my dissertation in Spring 2025. I am advised by Ricarose Roque as part of the Creative Communities Lab where we explore how we can engage people to create, play, and learn together with technology. We are committed to designing and studying equitable learning experiences that enable young people, families and educators to become computational creators — able to use computing to create things they care about, develop identities as creators, and imagine the ways they can shape the world.

As a research assistant I have primarily engaged in the design and research surrounding the Family Creative Learning workshop series as well as design and research related to the Facilitating Computational Tinkering Research-Practice Partnership. In my work I draw on community-based research, design-based research and ethnographic methods to study learning in context. Through my dissertation, I explore how we might support educators to attend to the role of infrastructure (historically, presently and its future transformation) in their spaces as a key component to creating dignity affirming learning environments
